WHAT DO YOU TREAT?At Healthy Minds for Healthy Lives we treat generalized anxiety disorder, social and separation anxiety, mild OCD, depression disorders, body image issues or self-esteem concerns, and will help evaluate and refer for mild autisitc disorders and general mild behavioral concerns. If your child does not have a primary pediatric mental health care issue then we will refer you child to a higher level of care with a mental health care nurse practitioner, a psychiatrist, or for crisis intervention at a local emergency room or inpatient pediatric psychiatric facility.

ARE YOU ABLE TO BOOK APPOINTMENTS THROUGH EMAIL?We are able to book an appointment through email or by phone. You call our main number at 940-757-1943 or email admin@healthymindsforhealthylives.com to schedule an appointment. Any email requesting a cancelation or change will not be taken into consideration unless notified within 48 hours. Emails and calls will be answered in 2-3 business days. If we are unable to answer, leave a meaage and we will return the call within 2-3 business days.

CAN I FILL A PRECRIPTION WITH YOUR OFFICE IF I SAW ANOTHER HEALTH CARE PROVIDER?As a mental health professional, we have specialized training in helping people achieve mental wellness in a safe, confidential, and structured way. Only patients seen at Healthy Minds for Health Lives, LLC may have their prescriptions filled with our providers.

WHAT ABOUT MEDICATIONS?We offer medication treatment, medication consultation, and medication management at Healthy Minds for Healthy Lives to help you find the best treatment plan for your child. Medication can be effective and is sometimes needed in conjunction with therapy. We honor and respect each individual clients process and many people benefit and reach their goals with therapy alone. Many people also greatly benefit from medication. Depending on your child's age and history, presenting symptoms, and goals, your mental health care specialist will work with you and your child to support your child's total mental health. SOME POSSIBLE BENEFITS OF PSYCHIATRIC MEDICINE INCLUDE: Potential benefits of medication stabilization with combined psychotherapy far outweigh medication use alone and can improve long-term outcomes of some mental health disorders. improved mood decreased anxiety mood stabilization increased focus and attention improved quality and quantity of sleep hours overall improved quality of life.

HOW DOES IT WORK? WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO IN SESSIONS?In our first session we will build a relationship, get clear on your main concerns, and create a plan with goals to achieve the outcomes you want. I will tailor mental health services to your child's specific needs. I take an eclectic approach in counseling including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness based strategies, and Person-Centered techniques. You will receive paperwork ahead of your appointment and I will be familiar with the information you provide. In our first session we will build a relationship,get clear on your main concerns, and create a plan with goals to achieve the outcomes you want. We will tailor therapy to your specific needs. I also able to offer a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy progam called COPE2THIVE. COPE is an evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy I will work through with your child if you choose this program. Each session of COPE is 30-40 minutes and is led by a certified COPE2THRIVE instructor.

WHAT KIND OF SERIVCES WILL MY CHILD RECIEVE?Everyone’s circumstances are unique and the length of time differs based on the individual. We provide high quality evidende based pediatric primary mental health care from a pediatric nurse practitioner and pediatric mental health specialist who is a cetified instructor in the COPE2THRIVE program. If your child requires a higher level of care. Our providers will refer to a qualified MHNP or psychiatrist and every member of our team is committed to providing a safe and comfortable experience for our patients.

DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?At this time we do not accept insurance. In order to provide 100% confidential treatment with competitive pricing options, we do not accept payment through insurance. We also want to empower you as the client to pick your provider, the treatment length, the treatment approach right for you, and not have insurance interfere with your unique needs and goals. If you would like to seek reimbursement for your sessions, we can print a statement for you to give to your insurance company. We cannot guarantee reimbursement from your insurance company. We accept all major credit cards and FSA/HSA cards as forms of payment.

ARE YOU A MENTAL HEALTH NURSE PRACTITIONER OR A PSYCHIATRIST?Our services do not include care from a mental health nurse practitioner or a psychiatrist. We are primary care pediatric providers who care for primary mental health disorders such as anxiety, depression, mild OCD, body image and self-esteem concerns, and mild autistim spectrum disorders. If your child needs a higher level of care we can collaborate with a mental health care nurse practitioner or a psychiatrist and refer to a specialist. Due to the long wait time to see a specialist, we will continue to provide serivces as long as we are able to meet your child's mental health care needs until they are established with an mental health nurse practitioner or a psychiatric provider. We are able to consult with psychiatric providers as needed to ensure your child receives the best care until able to be seen with a psychiatric provider.

MISSED APPOINTMENTS?If your child misses more than 3 appointments then you run the risk of not being seen again and receiving a dismissal letter. Those who repeatedly skip appointments may forfeit their right to future service at Healthy Minds for Healthy Lives. We will continue care up to 30 days after dismissal and then at time a patient is no longer required to be seen or treated. Each patient/client who misses an appointment will be charged the full amount unless notfifed 24 hours in advance.

WHAT DOES MY PRIMARY CARE PROVIDER OR PEDIATRICIAN NEED TO KNOW?It is important to inform your primary care provider or your pediatrician that you are being seen by a pediatric mental health specialist and if you are prescribed any medication for anxiety or depression it is very important to share this information with your primary care provider so they are aware of any medications you are taking to ensure your child’s safety and any medication interactions. Please notify your primary care provider immediately if your child is receiving medication therapy.
